Haryana’s Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme: Solar Power for One Lakh Families

On August 13, 2024, the Haryana government launched the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme to provide free electricity to one lakh poor families in the state through solar power.    • For families with an annual income of up to ₹1.80 lakh:
     • ₹60,000 subsidy from the central government.
     • ₹50,000 subsidy from the state government for solar energy equipment up to 2 kW.
   • For families with an annual income between ₹1.80 lakh and ₹3 lakh:
     • ₹60,000 subsidy from the central government.
     • ₹20,000 subsidy from the state government for solar energy equipment up to 2 kW.
4. Free Electricity:
   • Beneficiary families will receive an average of 300 units of electricity per month for free.
